Workshops for Immigrant Students and Families
Our workshops for immigrant students and families are asset based community spaces in which we hold engaging conversations and knowledge building space on various topics and provide tailoring based on the need of the school and community. The audience for these workshops are K-12 immigrant students and families. Hover over a session to show detailed information.

Session Title: Family Preparedness Workshop for Students and Families

Session Impact:
We will guide immigrant families on how to create a family preparedness package and implement this plan. Through this workshop students and families will be able to: 
• Increase their knowledge of local resources serving the immigrant community 
• Complete a family preparedness plan and adopt best practices to talk to their
children regarding immigration matters
Session Title: Knowledge is Power

Session Impact:
We will provide community-centered programming where families will partake in asset-based workshops rooted on the immigrant experience. We will focus on understanding the rights of immigrant students and families in and outside of schools. Through this workshop students and families will be able to: 
• Understand their educational rights and be provided with tools to navigate the K-12 education system, and immigrant rights outside of school and be equipped with knowledge on how to navigate an encounter with Immigration Customs Enforcement and other policing entities
Session Title: Higher Education Undocumented Students and Families

Session Impact:
This session will support high school immigrant students and families as they develop a better understanding of the  higher education process for undocumented students in Texas and New York. Through this workshop students and families will be able to: 
• Learn about in-state tuition policy
• Financial opportunities for immigrant and undocumented students 
• Develop a high road-map to higher education
Session Title: Dream Summit Program Support

Session Impact:
Dream Summits are school or district based events that provide a unique space for immigrant students and families to learn about opportunities they can access within K-12 and higher education, while also learning about their rights in and outside of school. ImmSchools assists schools and districts in planning, organizing, and delivering high-impact sessions for immigrant students and families. Through Dream Summits, students and families will be able to:
• Receive concrete tools and strategies to apply and navigate higher education as an undocumented and immigrant student
• Increase  awareness of financial aid opportunities, including applying for state financial aid and scholarships
