Every young person, regardless of individual circumstances, is endowed with innate abilities. It is our responsibility as parents, teachers, mentors, leaders, and friends to help youth identify these unique abilities. Without positive reinforcement, these abilities remain unrecognized and unused. The YWCA San Antonio is committed to providing local youth with opportunities to discover and use their unique skill sets.

clubGEN - Austin

At clubGEN, girls are surrounded with positive role models they can relate to for connection, inspiration, and guidance. Weekly interactive, fun sessions incorporate a research-based curriculum designed exclusively for clubGEN. With support from their club leaders, peers and high school role models, clubGEN equips girls with the skills and awareness they need to navigate the pressures of the teen years. Most of all, it’s fun!

Green Girls Summer Institute

Green Girls Summer Institute is a Science program that engages up to 30 middle school girls, ages 10-13, in five weeks of fun-filled outdoor adventures. Based in Long Island City, Green Girls travel to all five boroughs to study the dynamic urban forests of New York’s parks and waterways, encouraging them to realize their potential to create change within their natural environment and learn about future careers in the sciences.
