I really liked how applicable the information was from the ImmSchools programs. It is one thing to tell us about the problem, it is another to tell us exactly how to help.  - Educator

About ImmSchools Programs

As one of the only organizations working at the intersection of K-12 education and immigration, ImmSchools offers programming that includes a series of professional development sessions, research-based practices, and resources that foster and sustain strong school cultures and climates for all students. Our programs are structured to support school leaders and teachers in developing and deepening their practice and agency in fostering a sense of belonging for all students.

ImmSchools professional development sessions are designed for teachers, school leaders, education professionals, practitioners, and organization staff who support immigrant students and families. We recommend community, district and school partners complete our foundational sessions first, before exploring our supplemental sessions.

Professional Development Sessions include:

  • Fostering Belonging for All Students

  • Understanding the Impact: Policies Influencing Student Success

  • Student-Centered Teaching: Practices in K-12 classrooms

  • Supporting Students with Limited or Interrupted Formal Education (SLIFE)

  • Creating Safe Spaces: Addressing Anti-Immigrant Bullying in K-12 classrooms

  • Expanding Post-Secondary Access for All Students

  • Preparing Future Educators to support Multilingual and Immigrant Students
